I was a hairdressing tutor and ILT Champion at Tameside College for many years. During this time I successfully developed many interactive online courses in hairdressing, integrating multi-media. The courses were identified to be excellent practice by 2 OFSTED inspectors who suggested they should be marketed as they had commercial appeal. I then became VLE support officer where I helped staff create their own courses.
I have 8 years experience in designing and delivering elearning and VLE training to staff and learners based on best practice and pedagogic principles.
I was North West Regional Adviser for Becta on their nationally acclaimed e-learning staff development programme, The Ferl Practitioners' Programme. I have given many presentations on e-learning at a variety of national and regional conferences/events. For the last three years I have been a content developer for South Yorkshire Elearning Programme working with Colleges, Schools and SMEs (small businesses) producing interactive content and running training workshops on all aspects of elearning.
I achieved my MSc in Multimedia and e-learning, UCLAN's University Certificate in "Keeping Children Safe on the Internet" and in March 2007 I achieved CMALT, that is, Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT).
